Winemaking defines the region
During this Petit Tour, we will spend each day visiting wine houses both grand and small, talking with the winemakers and learning about the particular approach each takes to producing wine worthy of the appéllation.
At the larger, storied estates making Grand Cru wines, we'll join guided tours and marvel at the historic chateau that houses the operations. At the smaller local wineries, we'll learn how families keep tradition alive through creativity and hands-on application of traditional principles.
In step with the culture of savoring time together at the table, each day we'll have a languid lunch either at the estate's restaurant or at a homey, welcoming café in a town along the way. After even a day or two, you'll have forgotten you've ever rushed through a meal!
You will have traversed the region and tasted the spectrum of wines reflecting the unique terroir of the Médoc and will have been able to meet and sped time with regional winemakers.
Wines from the major Chateaux can be purchased here in the United States, and we are currently working with a company in Napa, CA that is interested in importing and shipping wines from the smaller Médoc producers we visit.
We'll keep you posted about this way of "bringing the wine home" with you as our plans reach fruition.
The Drink the Médoc Petit Tour is offered in May and September. Contact us if you're interested in attending this Petit Tour.
